Cole is 9 months!
Aw man, already?!?! Come on buddy, ya gotta slow down, you’re our last!! What has our mega man been up to this past month: Those two bottom teeth are through and he’s currently cutting one on top. He’ll fill up that gorgeous smile yet. And he’s been smiling a lot lately - a week and a half ago not so much as he had a double ear infection. But what a difference now that he’s feeling better! He is back to sleeping and eating like a champ. Cough situation: We went back to the allergist and he doesn’t know what else to tell us. Cole has no known allergies at the moment, but still has a cough. It’s not all the time - maybe once or twice a day - but it’s there. We see the pulmonologist on Monday. Todd is still thinking the spitting up is the issue and I hope he’s right. The allergists suggestion was a possible foreign body *GULP*, literally! But he said he’s not worried because it’s obviously not emergent and Cole is happy and thriving. Still unsettling to think: FOREIGN BODY. I’m on guard even more now that Cole is moving around so much. That kid finds fuzzies on the carpet! The eucalyptus plant has a new home up on the table, Ray’s C3PO is no longer allowed out of his room because of its loose parts… I’m always nervous now, especially with Max, who brings toys up from the bat that aren’t supposed to be up here and opening the big boy train drawer all the time. Cole is crawling all over the place, he’s found the stairs, the fireplace, the TV & electronics, the dog water and cat food he’s found SEVERAL times! He’s definitely making his rounds. - When we feed him for some reason he turns his head to the side. It’s a little game he plays with us, I don’t know why he started it but it’s adorable and I can’t resist imitating him which makes us both smile. The mesh teether has been his BFF lately because of all those teefers coming in. He gnawed on 9 gs after lunch today I’m sure it felt so good on his gums. And he loves those biter biscuits too. - Loves baths! He’s really grown fond of them. He’ll crawl in to the bathroom as soon as we head upstairs expecting one every night. It soothes him when he’s fussy and he loves to laugh and splash with his big brothers. - He’s all over the place, doesn’t matter if you’re in the way, he’s going over you. He’s desperately trying to keep up with his big brothers and he’s doing a good job holding his own. Except when Max bites him :( Not cool Maxwell! Moving around so much has also increased his potential for injury. If he’s not running into things, falling over or getting stuck, one of his brothers is stepping on his fingers or tripping over him because they didn’t see him. Sorry buddy :( Just one of the boys - Clapping! – He started clapping yesterday for the first time! He actually took a crappy afternoon nap because he wanted to sit up in his crib and clap! Good for you Cole Cole. - Babbling - Loves to talk, especially those “da-da’s”. His new noise sounds like a cat hissing and he does it when he’s happy with a big smile showing off those new teeth! - Furniture walking? The jury’s still out on that one. Todd claims he’s seen him go around the coffee table, me not so much. I have seen him stand at his piano and push it across the room and tonight we brought out his hippo walker and he was ecstatic and cat hissing all the way! A first in monthly sign history: tearing it up - He’s all about peekaboo! Loves the scarves from Kindermusik and will hold a scarf or a burpie up over his face and play peekaboo with you. He’ll also try to cover your face. Adorable!!!! Hooray for object permanence! Peekaboo! He’s been so chipper lately and we’re so glad he’s feeling better. He’s such a joy to watch: getting into things, interacting with his brothers so much, tackling us when we visit him on the floor, following us around and quietly popping up behind us like the creepy butler from Mr. Deeds… good times. He’s such a doll. I love eating his chunk, brushing his pretty blonde hair off to the side and finding new ways to make him show me that grin. I love him I love him I love him! Happy 9 months Cole. Try to slow it down this next month.
